  "text": "Council Decision\nof 8 November 2005\nappointing a member of the Committee of the Regions\n(2005/785/EC)\nTHE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,\nHaving regard to the Treaty establishing the European Community, and in particular Article 263 thereof,\nHaving regard to the proposal of the United Kingdom Government,\nWhereas:\n(1)\nOn 22 January 2002 the Council adopted Decision 2002/60/EC appointing the members and alternate members of the Committee of the Regions for the period 26 January 2002 to 25 January 2006.\n(2)\nFollowing the resignation of Ms Sally POWELL, of which the Council was informed on 21 December 2004, a seat as a member of the Committee of the Regions has become vacant,\nHAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:",
