The European Union shall complete its contribution to UN-LiREC for combating the destabilising accumulation and spread of small arms and light weapons in Latin America and the Caribbean.
For the purposes of paragraph 1, the European Union shall assist UN-LiREC in:
supporting national ownership of activities relating to the 2001 United Nations Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Erradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All its Aspects;
linking these activities to similar initiatives undertaken by the Member States; and
developing best practices training kits for other regions of the world, such as Africa and South Eastern Europe.
A detailed description of activities is set out in the Annex.
Adequate visibility of the contribution of the European Union to the activities mentioned in the Annex, including by appropriate measures taken by UN-LiREC shall be ensured in accordance with the modalities laid down by this Decision.
