Developments in EU labour statistics will be driven by the revised Lisbon Strategy now refocused on growth and employment in Europe, the targets and benchmarks set in the framework of the European employment strategy and Economic and Monetary Union which requires a comprehensive set of infra-annual statistics to describe the labour market developments in the euro area and the EU.
