  "text": "Council Decision\nof 9 May 2008\nappointing a new member of the Commission of the European Communities\n(2008/380/EC, Euratom)\nTHE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,\nHaving regard to the Treaty establishing the European Community, and in particular the second paragraph of Article 215 thereof,\nHaving regard to the Treaty establishing the European Atomic Energy Community, and in particular the second paragraph of Article 128 thereof,\nWhereas:\nIn a letter dated 7 May 2008, followed by a letter dated 8 May 2008, Mr Franco FRATTINI resigned from his post as a member of the Commission. He should be replaced for the remainder of his term of office,\nHAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:",
