Any person with an acute encephalomyelitis

AND

At least two of the following seven:

  • Sensory changes referred to the site of a preceding animal bite

  • Paresis or paralysis

  • Spasms of swallowing muscles

  • Hydrophobia

  • Delirium

  • Convulsions

  • Anxiety
