The secondary steam turbines (see Figure 4) must be included as part of the cogeneration unit. The electrical energy output of a secondary steam turbine forms part of the energy outputs from the cogeneration unit. The thermal energy required to produce these additional electrical energy outputs has to be excluded from the useful heat output of the cogeneration unit as a whole.
