Article 1

Mr Pierre DE BOISSIEU is hereby appointed Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union for the period from 1 November 2009 until 31 December 2009, or until the date of entry into force of the Treaty of Lisbon, whichever is the earlier.
