"text": "ENERGY CONSUMPTION CALCULATION\nEnergy consumption is calculated as an annual average of the energy consumed during the production process (excluding premises heating) from the raw material to the finished floor covering.\nFor synthetic (non-renewable) raw materials, the calculations start from the fabrication of the product used. The calculation shall not include the energy content of the raw material (i.e.: feedstock energy).\nThe energy calculation shall include at least 95 % of the energy required to produce the raw materials. The energy required to manufacture adhesives shall not be included in the calculations.\nThe unit chosen for the calculations is the MJ/m2.\nThe energy contents of various fuels are given.\nElectricity consumption refers to electricity purchased from an external supplier.\nIf the producer has an energy surplus that is sold as electricity, steam or heat, the quantity sold can be deducted from the fuel consumption. Only the fuel that is actually used in floor covering production shall be included in the calculations.\nEnvironmental parameters\nA Proportion of renewable raw materials and recycled non-renewable raw materials (%)\nB Proportion of renewable fuels (%)\nC Electricity consumption (MJ/m2)\nD Fuel consumption (MJ/m2)\nP = A 25 + B 25 + 4 – 0,055 × C + 4 – 0,022 × D The energy contents of various fuels are given in the following table.\nTable for calculating fuel consumption\nProduction period — year:\nDays:\nFrom:\nTo:\nFuel\nQuantity\nUnits\nConversion factor\nEnergy(MJ)\nStraw (15 % W)\nkg\n14,5\nPellets (7 % W)\nkg\n17,5\nWaste wood (20 % W)\nkg\n14,7\nWood chips (45 % W)\nkg\n9,4\nPeat\nkg\n20\nNatural gas\nkg\n54,1\nNatural gas\nNm3\n38,8\nButane\nkg\n49,3\nKerosene\nkg\n46,5\nGasoline\nkg\n52,7\nDiesel\nkg\n44,6\nGas oil\nkg\n45,2\nHeavy Fuel oil\nkg\n42,7\nDry Steam Coal\nkg\n30,6\nAnthracite\nkg\n29,7\nCharcoal\nkg\n33,7\nIndustrial Coke\nkg\n27,9\nElectricity (from net)\nkWh\n3,6\nTotal energy (MJ)",
