"text": "PRELIMINARY COST ESTIMATES DURING PHASE I (WAVE 4)\nThis Annex gives preliminary cost estimates for running wave 4 of SHARE in 2010 and 2011, i.e., during Phase I according to Article 8(1). The cost categories refer to Article 9 (‘Contributions’). This Annex is not the annual spending plan required by Article 6(5) but serves as a starting point for such a plan which will be set up by the Management Board once the SHARE-ERIC is established.\n(A) Preliminary estimates of survey cost estimates have been generated by the SHARE management team based on the 2006 and 2008 survey costs. For new countries, preliminary estimates are based on the costs in comparable countries.\n(B) Preliminary estimates of operating costs are based on two full-time-equivalent staff in each country with salaries according to the EU Marie-Curie-Programme and estimates of travel, subsistence and overhead costs in each country based on the 2006 and 2008 waves.\nPreliminary operating cost estimates for Austria, the Czech Republic, France, Germany and Poland were supplied by these countries. Their estimated operating costs may involve more or less personnel than assumed in the estimates provided by the SHARE management.\n(C) Coordination costs for Germany have been estimated based on the 2006 and 2008 waves.\n(D) The countries’ contribution to all other common costs have been estimated based on the 2006 and 2008 waves and allocated to each country according to Article 9(5). They may, however, be substantially lower or even zero if other funding organisations such as the European Commission or the U.S. National Institute on Aging contribute to these costs via grants or separate contracts.\nEstimated costs for wave 4 (2010-11) by country and source\n(in thousand EUR)\n(Α)Survey costs for a sample of 6 000 individuals\n(B)Operating costs (staff, travel, and overheads)\n(C)Coordination costs\n(D)Maximum share of other common costs\nTotal\nAustria\n1 006\n322\n109\n1 438\nBelgium\n778\n318\n99\n1 194\nCzechia\n338\n167\n71\n576\nDenmark\n892\n409\n105\n1 406\nEstonia\n460\n243\n59\n761\nFrance\n1 024\n327\n97\n1 448\nGermany\n784\n314\n1 887\n102\n3 087\nGreece\n602\n285\n84\n971\nHungary\n460\n243\n55\n758\nIreland\n1 024\n339\n126\n1 490\nIsrael\n602\n285\n79\n966\nItaly\n782\n322\n88\n1 191\nLuxembourg\n1 556\n358\n145\n2 059\nNetherlands\n794\n314\n117\n1 224\nPoland\n453\n226\n50\n730\nPortugal\n602\n285\n66\n953\nSlovenia\n460\n243\n79\n781\nSpain\n786\n300\n91\n1 177\nSweden\n1 024\n339\n107\n1 471\nSwitzerland\n1 556\n358\n122\n2 036\nTOTAL\n15 983\n5 997\n1 887\n1 851\n25 719",
