# Council Decision 2011/424/CFSP of 18 July 2011 appointing a European Union Special Representative for the Southern Mediterranean region, Article 1: Appointment

Mr Bernardino LEÓN is hereby appointed European Union Special Representative (EUSR) for the Southern Mediterranean region until 30 June 2012. The mandate of the EUSR may be terminated earlier, if the Council so decides, on a proposal of the HR.
