  "text": "The efficiency of the alternator must be determined by doing measurements at different speeds: 1 800, 3 000, 6 000, 10 000 revolutions per minute. At each speed the alternator is charged at 50 % of the maximum load. For calculating the efficiency, a time distribution is to be 25 %, 40 %, 25 %, 10 % for respectively 1 800, 3 000, 6 000, 10 000 revolutions per minute (see the VDA approach as described in point 5.1.2 in Annex I to the Technical Guidelines).\nThis leads to the following formula (1):\nΔη A = √ 0,25 * S 1 800 2 + 0,40 * S 3 000 2 + 0,25 * S 6 000 2 + 0,1 * S 10 000 2\nWith:\nηΑ is the efficiency of the alternator;\n(η @1 800 rpm @0,5·IN) is the efficiency of the alternator at a speed of 1 800 rpm and at a load of 50 %;\n(η @3 000 rpm @0,5·IN) is the efficiency of the alternator at a speed of 3 000 rpm and at a load of 50 %;\n(η @6 000 rpm @0,5·IN) is the efficiency of the alternator at a speed of 6 000 rpm and at a load of 50 %;\n(η @10 000 rpm @0,5·IN) is the efficiency of the alternator at a speed of 10 000 rpm and at a load of 50 %;\nIN = Current (A)\nThe set-up of the test bench and the testing procedure is to fulfil the precision requirements specified in ISO 8854:2012.",
