  "text": "The implementation of the project will result in increased security and stability in South East Europe and beyond by combating the spread and illicit trafficking of SALW and their ammunition. The project will directly contribute to the implementation of the EU Security Strategy, the EU SALW Strategy, the UN Programme of Action, the International Tracing Instrument, and the UN Firearms Protocol and will specifically enhance regional cooperation in combating the threat posed by the spread of SALW and their ammunition. In particular, the project will result in:\nImproved security and stockpile management of SALW through the enhancement of storage sites;\nReduced surplus and confiscated stocks of SALW and their ammunition through destruction;\nImproved capacities for SALW marking, tracing and record-keeping;\nStrengthened regional cooperation and information sharing;\nReduced number of illicit weapons held by the population through the implementation of awareness rising and weapons collection campaigns.\nThe project's geographic scope is South East Europe, with direct project beneficiaries being Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, the Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and FYROM.",
