For averaging periods for emissions to water, the following definition applies.
For discontinuous flows, a different sampling procedure yielding representative results (e.g. spot sampling) can be used.
Daily average
Average over a sampling period of 24 hours taken as a flow-proportional composite sample (or as a time-proportional composite sample provided that sufficient flow stability is demonstrated)
