  "text": "DRAFT\nDECISION No 1/2016 OF THE 12th EU-JORDAN ASSOCIATION COUNCIL\nof …\nagreeing on EU-Jordan Partnership Priorities\nTHE EU-JORDAN ASSOCIATION COUNCIL,\nHaving regard to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement establishing an Association between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, of the other part,\nWhereas:\n(1)\nThe Euro-Mediterranean Agreement establishing an Association between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, of the other part (the ‘Agreement’) was signed on 24 November 1997 and entered into force on 1 May 2002.\n(2)\nArticle 91 of the Agreement gives the Association Council the power to take decisions for the purposes of attaining the objectives of the Agreement and to make appropriate recommendations.\n(3)\nArticle 101 of the Agreement states that the Parties are to take any general or specific measures required to fulfil their obligations under the Agreement and are to see to it that the objectives set out in the Agreement are attained.\n(4)\nThe Review of the European Neighbourhood Policy proposed a new phase of engagement with partners, allowing for a greater sense of ownership by both sides.\n(5)\nThe EU and Jordan have agreed to consolidate their partnership by agreeing on a set of priorities for the period 2016-2018, with the aim of supporting and strengthening Jordan's resilience and stability while seeking to address the impact of the protracted conflict in Syria.\n(6)\nThe Parties to the Agreement have agreed on the text of the EU-Jordan Partnership Priorities, including the Compact, which will support the implementation of the Agreement, focusing on cooperation in relation to commonly identified shared interests,\nHAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:\nDone at …,\nFor the EU-Jordan Association Council\nThe President",
