  "heading": "The criterion for entitlement to the provisions of the Staff Regulations shall be the serious and continuing impairment of the physical or mental activities.",
  "text": "Dependant persons may thus be deemed to be disabled where they suffer from:\n(a) serious or chronic affliction of the central or autonomic nervous system, however caused, such as diseases of the brain, myopathy and autonomic paralysis;\n(b) serious affliction of the locomotor system;\n(c) serious affliction of one or more sensory systems;\n(d) chronic and disabling mental illness.\nThis list shall not be deemed to be exhaustive. It is given by way of indication only, and shall not be taken as a basis for assessing the degree of disability or incapacity.\nThe amount of the allowance shall be equal to the amount of the allowance for a dependent child, and shall be additional to any such allowance.",
