Article 8 Prevention and management of conflicts of interests
United Kingdom
Where the Chair or his/her deputy, any other member or that member's deputy, the officials and staff members making up the Panel's secretariat, and any other person who participates in the Panel's meetings or is aware of the documents relating to a case finds himself/herself in a situation that might give rise to a risk of conflict of interest, he/she shall immediately inform the other members and the secretariat. The same applies where they find themselves in a situation that might objectively be perceived as a conflict of interest.
None of the persons referred to in paragraph 1 shall participate in the deliberations or in the adoption of the recommendation. A note recording the way in which the risk of a conflict of interests has been dealt with shall be included in the file.
