Division 5.1 Satellite based observation

The provision of space data for the Copernicus services shall be managed by:

1. (a)

   The Commission through the Copernicus Data Access Specifications of the space-based Earth Observation needs for the period 2014-2020;

2. (b)

   ESA for the technical coordination of the Copernicus Space Component, the definition of its architecture, the development and procurement of space assets, data access and the operation of Copernicus dedicated missions;

3. (c)

   EUMETSAT for the operation of Copernicus dedicated missions.

The Copernicus Data Access Specifications of the space-based Earth Observation needs for the period 2014-2020 shall be met through the Data Warehouse mechanism, established on the basis of the Copernicus ESA delegation agreement.
