  "text": "Political and Security Committee Decision (CFSP) 2019/2188\nof 11 December 2019\non the appointment of the Head of Mission of the European Union Advisory Mission in support of Security Sector Reform in Iraq (EUAM Iraq) (EUAM Iraq/3/2019)\nTHE POLITICAL AND SECURITY COMMITTEE,\nHaving regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular the third paragraph of Article 38 thereof,\nHaving regard to Council Decision (CFSP) 2017/1869 of 16 October 2017 on the European Union Advisory Mission in support of Security Sector Reform in Iraq (EUAM Iraq), and in particular Article 9(1) thereof,\nWhereas:\n(1)\nPursuant to Article 9(1) of Decision (CFSP) 2017/1869, the Political and Security Committee (PSC) is authorised, in accordance with the third paragraph of Article 38 of the Treaty, to take the relevant decisions for the purpose of exercising the political control and strategic direction of the European Union Advisory Mission in support of Security Sector Reform in Iraq (EUAM Iraq), including the decision to appoint a Head of Mission.\n(2)\nPursuant to Article 6(1) of Decision (CFSP) 2017/1869, Mr Markus RITTER was appointed as Head of Mission of EUAM Iraq.\n(3)\nOn 15 October 2018, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2018/1545 extending the mandate of EUAM Iraq until 17 April 2020.\n(4)\nOn 11 November 2019, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy proposed the appointment of Mr Christoph BUIK as Head of Mission of EUAM Iraq from 1 January 2020 to 17 April 2020,\nHAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:",
