  1. (a)

    ‘Agreement’ means the Agreement between the European Union and Japan for an Economic Partnership;

  2. (b)

    ‘Code of Conduct’ means the Code of Conduct for Arbitrators referred to in Article 21.30 of the Agreement;

  3. (c)

    ‘days’ means calendar days;

  4. (d)

    ‘Joint Committee’ means the Joint Committee established pursuant to Article 22.1 of the Agreement;

  5. (e)

    ‘requested Party’ means the Party to which the request to enter into a mediation procedure is addressed pursuant to Article 21.6 of the Agreement;

  6. (f)

    ‘requesting Party’ means the Party that requests to enter into a mediation procedure pursuant to Article 21.6 of the Agreement; and

  7. (g)

    ‘Rules of Procedure’ means the Rules of Procedure of a Panel referred to in Article 21.30 of the Agreement.
