  "text": "Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2020/122\nof 16 January 2020\non the conclusion of an Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters between the European Union and the United Mexican States concerning amendments to Annexes I and II of the Agreement between the European Community and the United Mexican States on the mutual recognition and protection of designations for spirit drinks\nTHE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,\nHaving regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,\nHaving regard to Council Decision 97/361/EC of 27 May 1997 concerning the conclusion of an Agreement between the European Community and the United Mexican States on mutual recognition and protection of designations for spirit drinks, and in particular Article 4 thereof,\nWhereas:\n(1)\nThe Agreement between the European Community and the United Mexican States on the mutual recognition and protection of designations for spirit drinks (hereinafter ‘the Agreement’) entered into force on 1 July 1997.\n(2)\nIn accordance with Article 18 of the Agreement, the Union and the United Mexican States have negotiated an Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters to replace Annexes I and II to the Agreement, in order to update and correct the lists of protected spirit drinks.\n(3)\nThis Exchange of Letters should be approved on behalf of the European Union.\n(4)\nThe measures provided for in this Decision are in accordance with the opinion of the Committee for Spirit Drinks,\nHAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:",
