# Council Directive of 4 March 1974 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to weights of from 1 mg to 50 kg of above-medium accuracy (74/148/EEC) (repealed), Division 7.1: The surface of the weights, including their bases and edges, shall be entirely smooth. The surface of class El E2, F1 and F2 weights shall show no porosity when examined by the naked eye, and shall be carefully polished.
