# Council Directive 93/103/EC of 23 November 1993 concerning the minimum safety and health requirements for work on board fishing vessels (thirteenth individual Directive within the meaning of Article 16 (1) of Directive 89/391/EEC), Division 2.1: Electrical installations must be designed and constructed so as not to present any danger and so as to ensure:

Extent: E+W+S+N.I.

protection for the crew and vessel from electrical risks,
the proper functioning of all equipment necessary to maintain the vessel in normal operational and living conditions without recourse to an emergency power supply,
the operation of electrical equipment essential for safety in all emergencies.
