  "text": "The Commission shall promote, as appropriate, the preparation of European standards relating to the essential requirements referred to in Annex II.\nThe Commission shall promote, in particular, the preparation of European standards relating to:\ncriteria and methodologies for life-cycle analysis of packaging,\nthe methods for measuring and verifying the presence of heavy metals and other dangerous substances in the packaging and their release into the environment from packaging and packaging waste,\ncriteria for a minimum content of recycled material in packaging for appropriate types of packaging,\ncriteria for recycling methods,\ncriteria for composting methods and produced compost,\ncriteria for the marking of packaging.",
