# Directive 2007/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 September 2007 establishing a framework for the approval of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles (Framework Directive) (Text with EEA relevance) (repealed), Division 5: Annex VII does not apply to type-approvals granted in accordance with UNECE Regulations listed in Annex IV, as the relevant numbering system is provided for in the respective UNECE Regulations. However, Annex VII applies to EC type-approvals granted under Regulation (EC) No 661/2009 which are based on UNECE Regulations (i.e. incorporating new technologies, EC type-approved components and STUs, virtual testing and self-testing). In this case, the following numbering system is applied:
