Before a ro-ro passenger ship or high-speed passenger craft starts to operate on a regular service covered by this Directive, Member States shall carry out an inspection, in accordance with Article 3(1) of Directive (EU) 2017/2110 ^f1 , to ensure that that ro-ro passenger ship or high-speed passenger craft fulfills the necessary requirements for the safe operation of a regular service.
