# Directive 2009/34/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2009 relating to common provisions for both measuring instruments and methods of metrological control (Recast) (Text with EEA relevance), Division 1.3: The application shall be accompanied by the documents necessary for its evaluation, in duplicate, and in particular:

Extent: E+W+S+N.I.

1.3.1. a description in particular of:
(a) the construction and operation of the instrument;
(b) the protecting arrangements ensuring correct working;
(c) the devices for regulation and adjustment;
(d) the intended locations for:
verification marks,
seals (where applicable);
1.3.2. general arrangement drawings and, where necessary, detailed drawings of important components;
1.3.3. a schematic drawing illustrating the principles of operation and, where necessary, a photograph.
