# Directive 2009/34/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2009 relating to common provisions for both measuring instruments and methods of metrological control (Recast) (Text with EEA relevance), Division 3.3: The sign mentioned in Article 6 is the same as the EC approval sign, except that the stylised letter ε is reversed symmetrically about a vertical axis and bears no other indication unless the separate Directives stipulate otherwise.
