Directive 97/24/EC is amended as follows:

  1. (1)

    Article 4(1) of Directive 97/24/EC is replaced by the following:

    ‘1.

    In accordance with the provisions of Article 11 of Directive 2002/24/EC, the equivalence shall be recognised of the requirements of Chapter 1 (tyres), Chapter 2 (lighting and light-signalling devices), Chapter 4 (rear-view mirrors), Annex III to Chapter 9 (permissible sound level and exhaust system requirements for motorcycles) and Chapter 11 (safety belts) annexed to this Directive and those of UNECE Regulations Nos 30f1, 54f2, 64f3 and 75f4 in respect of tyres, 3f5, 19f6, 20f7, 37f8, 38f9, 50f10, 53f11, 56f12, 57f13, 72f14, 74f15 and 82f16 in respect of lighting and light-signalling devices, 81f17 in respect of rear-view mirrors, 16f18 in respect of safety belts and 41f19 in respect of noise emissions from motorcycles.’;

    Annexes I, II and IV to Chapter 5 of Directive 97/24/EC are amended in accordance with Annex I to this Directive.
