# Directive 2014/29/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 February 2014 on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to the making available on the market of simple pressure vessels (recast) (Text with EEA relevance), Division 3.1: Preparation of the component parts

Preparation of the component parts (for example forming and chamfering) shall not give rise to surface defects or cracks or changes in the mechanical characteristics likely to be detrimental to the safety of the vessels.
