# Regulation No 31 (EEC), 11 (EAEC), laying down the Staff Regulations of Officials and the Conditions of Employment of Other Servants of the European Economic Community and the European Atomic Energy Community, Article 54


On termination of service an official may be given an honorary rank in either his grade or the next higher grade, by decision of the appointing authority.
No pecuniary benefits shall attach to such honorary rank.
