# Regulation No 31 (EEC), 11 (EAEC), laying down the Staff Regulations of Officials and the Conditions of Employment of Other Servants of the European Economic Community and the European Atomic Energy Community, Article 56b


An official paid from appropriations in the research and investment budget and employed in an establishment of the Joint Research Centre oron indirect actionshall be entitled to special allowances when regularly required in accordance with a decision taken by the appointing authority because of the exigencies of the service or safety rules to remain on standby duty at his place of work or at home outside normal working hours.
After consulting the Staff Regulations Committee, the Commission shall determine, by means of delegated acts in accordance with Articles 111 and 112, the categories of officials entitled to such allowances, the conditions for granting the allowances and the rates thereof.
