# Council Regulation (EC) No 1/2005 of 22 December 2004 on the protection of animals during transport and related operations and amending Directives 64/432/EEC and 93/119/EC and Regulation (EC) No 1255/97, Article 37: Entry into force and date of application

This Regulation shall enter into force on the 20th day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
It shall apply as from 5 January 2007.
However, Article 6(5) shall apply as from 5 January 2008.
