  "text": "The following general information on each permanent observation plot for the intensive and continuous monitoring shall be collected during the installation of a new plot and the first surveys:\nInstallation\nFirst surveys\n—\nDescriptive code\nCountry\nObservation plot number\nActual latitude and longitude\n—\nSite data\nAltitude\nOrientation\nTotal plot size\nNumber of trees in plot\nSubplot (if any)\nAvailability of water to the principal species\nHumus type\nSoil unit (estimate)\n—\nStand data\nMean age of dominant storey\nMain tree species\nYield (estimate)\n—\nOther observations\nHistory of the plot\nOther monitoring stations situated nearby\nWhere additional plots are installed in order to complete the national intensive monitoring programme, the Member States shall forward to the European Commission for each installed plot the information collected during the installation using a data file and reports (by the end of the same year in which the installation took place).\nAll changes during the years concerning the monitoring set-up and other important information (e.g. forest operations, storms and pests incidents) shall be submitted yearly.",
