Article 12 Exchange of confidential data between the Commission (Eurostat) and central banks

For the purposes of this Regulation, the exchange of confidential data may take place, exclusively for statistical purposes, between the Commission (Eurostat) and national central banks, and between the Commission (Eurostat) and the European Central Bank, where the exchange is to ensure the quality of multinational enterprise group information in the European Union, and where the exchange is explicitly authorised by the appropriate national authority.

In order to ensure that the data transmitted under this Article is used exclusively for statistical purposes, the format, security and confidentiality measures, and procedure for the transmission of data on the multinational enterprise groups to the national central banks and the European Central Bank shall be adopted in accordance with the regulatory procedure referred to in Article 16(2).
