  "heading": "Definitions",
  "text": "1. For the purposes of this Regulation, the following definitions shall apply:\n(a) ‘competent authority’ means any authority appointed by the appropriate authority competent for the organisation of official checks referred to in point VI of Part I of Annex VII to Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013; it shall also include, where appropriate, the corresponding authority of a third country;\n(b) ‘relevant authority’ means:\n(i) in relation to England, the Secretary of State;\n(ii) in relation to Wales, the Welsh Ministers;\n(iii) in relation to Scotland, the Scottish Ministers.\n(c) ‘third country’ means any country or territory other than:\n(i) the United Kingdom;\n(ii) the Bailiwick of Jersey;\n(iii) the Bailiwick of Guernsey;\n(iv) the Isle of Man.",
