  "text": "Slaughter operations listed in Article 7(2)\nSubjects for examination of competence\nAll operations listed in Article 7(2)(a) to (g).\nAnimal behaviour, animal suffering, consciousness and sensibility, stress in animals.\n(a)\nthe handling and care of animals before they are restrained;\nPractical aspects of handling and restraining animals.\nKnowledge of manufacturers’ instructions on the type of restraint equipments used in case of mechanical restraint\n(b)\nthe restraint of animals for the purpose of stunning or killing;\n(c)\nthe stunning of animals;\nPractical aspects of stunning techniques and knowledge of manufacturers’ instructions on the type of stunning equipments used.\nBack-up stunning and/or killing methods.\nBasic maintenance and cleaning of stunning and/or killing equipment.\n(d)\nthe assessment of effective stunning;\nMonitoring the effectiveness of stunning.\nBack-up stunning and/or killing methods.\n(e)\nthe shackling or hoisting of live animals;\nPractical aspects of handling and restraining animals.\nMonitoring the effectiveness of stunning.\n(f)\nthe bleeding of live animals;\nMonitoring the effectiveness of stunning and the absence of signs of life.\nBack-up stunning and/or killing methods.\nAppropriate use and maintenance of bleeding knives.\n(g)\nthe slaughtering in accordance with Article 4(4);\nAppropriate use and maintenance of bleeding knives.\nMonitoring the absence of signs of life.\nKilling operations listed in Article 7(3)\nSubjects for examination of competence\nthe killing of fur animals.\nPractical aspects of handling and restraining animals.\nPractical aspects of stunning techniques and knowledge of manufacturers’ instructions on stunning equipments.\nBack-up stunning and/or killing methods.\nMonitoring the effectiveness of stunning and confirmation of death.\nBasic maintenance and cleaning of stunning and/or killing equipment.",
