This Regulation establishes common technical requirements for the type-approval of motor vehicles, engines and replacement parts with regard to their emissions.

F1This Regulation also lays down rules for in-service conformity of vehicles and engines, the durability of pollution control devices, vehicle on-board diagnostic (OBD) systems and the measurement of fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions.
