# Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 404/2011 of 8 April 2011 laying down detailed rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 1224/2009 establishing a Community control system for ensuring compliance with the rules of the Common Fisheries Policy, Division 3: The ladder shall be positioned and secured so that:

Extent: E+W+S+N.I.

(a) it is clear of any possible discharges from the fishing vessel;
(b) it is clear of the finer lines and as far as practicable in the middle length of the fishing vessel;
(c) each step rests firmly against the fishing vessel’s side.
