"text": "(a) The seasonal space heating energy efficiency of solid fuel local space heaters is defined as:\nηS = ηS,on – 10% + F(2) + F(3) – F(4) – F(5)\nWhere:\nηS,on is the seasonal space heating energy efficiency in active mode, expressed in %, calculated as set out in point 5(b),\nF(2) is a correction factor accounting for a positive contribution to the seasonal space heating energy efficiency due to adjusted contributions of controls of indoor heating comfort, the values of which are mutually exclusive, cannot be added to each other, expressed in %,\nF(3) is a correction factor accounting for a positive contribution to the seasonal space heating energy efficiency due to adjusted contributions of controls for indoor heating comfort the values of which can be added to each other, expressed in %,\nF(4) is a correction factor accounting for a negative contribution to the seasonal space heating energy efficiency by auxiliary electricity consumption, expressed in %,\nF(5) is a correction factor accounting for a negative contribution to the seasonal space heating energy efficiency by energy consumption of a permanent pilot flame, expressed in %.\n(b) The seasonal space heating energy efficiency in active mode is calculated as:\nηS,on = ηth,nom\nWhere:\nηth,nom is the useful efficiency at nominal heat output, based on NCV.\n(c) The correction factor F(2) accounting for a positive contribution to the seasonal space heating efficiency due to adjusted contributions of controls for indoor heating comfort, the values of which are mutually exclusive or cannot be added to each other, is calculated as follows:\nFor solid fuel local space heaters the correction factor F(2) is equal to one of the factors according to Table 2, depending on which control characteristic applies. Only one value can be selected.\nTable 2\nCorrection factor F(2)\nIf the product is equipped with (only one option may apply):\nF(2)\nsingle stage heat output, no room temperature control\n0,0 %\ntwo or more manual stages, no temperature control\n1,0 %\nwith mechanic thermostat room temperature control\n2,0 %\nwith electronic room temperature control\n4,0 %\nwith electronic room temperature control plus day timer\n6,0 %\nwith electronic room temperature control plus week timer\n7,0 %\nF(2) shall be zero for solid fuel local space heaters not complying with the requirements set out in Annex II, point 2 on emissions where the temperature control is set at the minimum heat output. The heat output in this setting must not be higher than 50 % of the nominal heat output.\n(d) The correction factor F(3) accounting for a positive contribution to the seasonal space heating efficiency due to adjusted contributions of controls for indoor heating comfort, the values of which can be added to each other, is calculated as follows:\nFor solid fuel local space heaters the correction factor F(3) is the summation of the values according to Table 3, depending on which control characteristic(s) applies.\nTable 3\nCorrection factor F(3)\nIf the product is equipped with (multiple options may apply):\nF(3)\nroom temperature control with presence detection\n1,0 %\nroom temperature control with open window detection\n1,0 %\nwith distance control option\n1,0 %\nF(3) shall be zero for solid fuel local space heaters not complying with the requirements set out in Annex II, point 2 on emissions where the temperature control is set at the minimum heat output. The heat output in this setting must not be higher than 50 % of the nominal heat output.\n(e) The auxiliary electricity use correction factor F(4) is calculated as:\nThis correction factor takes into account the auxiliary electricity use during on-mode and standby-mode operation.\nF 4 = CC × 0,2 × el max + 0,8 × el min + 1,3 × el sb P nom × 100 % Where:\nelmax is the electric power consumption at nominal heat output, expressed in kW,\nelmin is the electric power consumption at minimum heat output, expressed in kW. In case the product does not offer a minimum heat output the value for the electric power consumption at nominal heat output shall be used,\nelsb is the electric power consumption of the product while in standby mode, expressed in kW,\nPnom is the nominal heat output of the product, expressed in kW.\n(f) The correction factor F(5) related to the energy consumption of a permanent pilot flame is calculated as follows:\nThis correction factor takes into account the permanent pilot flame power requirement.\nF 5 = 0,5 × P pilot P nom × 100 % Where:\nPpilot is the pilot flame consumption, expressed in kW;\nPnom is the nominal heat output of the product, expressed in kW.",
