When the manufacturer submits an application for revision or extension of an existing type-approval for the purpose of including an alternative GNSS antenna, electronic control unit, mobile network antenna and/or power source components, no retesting of 112-based eCall in-vehicle system components shall be required for the purpose of fulfilling the requirements of this Annex, provided that those type-approved components possess at least the same functional features and that they are indeed covered by this Annex in accordance with Article 5(3).
