"text": "Annex IX to Regulation (EU) 2017/1151 is amended as follows:\n(1) in Section A, point 3. is replaced by the following:\n‘3.\nTechnical data on fuels for testing fuel cell vehicles\nType: Hydrogen for fuel cell vehicles\nThe hydrogen fuel index is determined by subtracting the “total non-hydrogen gases” in this table, expressed in mole per cent, from 100 mole per cent.\nTotal hydrocarbons include oxygenated organic species. Total hydrocarbons shall be measured on a carbon basis (μmolC/mol). Total hydrocarbons may exceed 2 μmol/mol due only to the presence of methane, in which case the summation of methane, nitrogen and argon shall not exceed 100 μmol/mol.\nAs a minimum, total sulphur compounds include H2S, COS, CS2 and mercaptans, which are typically found in natural gas.\nTotal halogenated compounds include, for example, hydrogen bromide (HBr), hydrogen chloride (HCl), chlorine (Cl2), and organic halides (R-X).\nTest method shall be documented.\nFor the constituents that are additive, such as total hydrocarbons and total sulfur compounds, the sum of the constituents are to be less than or equal to the acceptable limit.\nCharacteristics\nUnits\nLimits\nTest Method\nminimum\nmaximum\nHydrogen fuel index\n% mole\n99,97\nTotal non-hydrogen gases\nμmol/mol\n300\nMaximum concentration of individual contaminants\nWater (H2O)\nμmol/mol\n5\nTotal hydrocarbons (Methane basis)\nμmol/mol\n2\nOxygen (O2)\nμmol/mol\n5\nHelium (He)\nμmol/mol\n300\nTotal Nitrogen (N2) and Argon (Ar)\nμmol/mol\n100\nCarbon dioxide (CO2)\nμmol/mol\n2\nCarbon monoxide (CO)\nμmol/mol\n0,2\nTotal sulfur compounds (H2S basis)\nμmol/mol\n0,004\nFormaldehyde (HCHO)\nμmol/mol\n0,01\nFormic acid (HCOOH)\nμmol/mol\n0,2\nAmmonia (NH3)\nμmol/mol\n0,1\nTotal halogenated compounds\n(Halogenate ion basis)\nμmol/mol\n0,05\n’",
