# Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/2067 of 19 December 2018 on the verification of data and on the accreditation of verifiers pursuant to Directive 2003/87/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council (Text with EEA relevance), Article 55: National accreditation body

5. A national accreditation body shall be entrusted with the operation of accreditation as a public authority activity ... if accreditation is not operated directly by public authorities.
6. For the purposes of this Regulation, the national accreditation body shall carry out its functions in accordance with the requirements set out in the standard referred to in Annex III.
