"text": "(a) For all refrigerating appliances with a direct sales function, the EEI, expressed in % and rounded to the first decimal place, is the ratio of the AE (in kWh/a) and the reference SAE (in kWh/a) and is calculated as:\nEEI = AE/SAE.\n(b) The AE, expressed in kWh/a and rounded to two decimal places, is calculated as follows:\nAE = 365 × Edaily ;\nwith:\nEdaily is the energy consumption of the refrigerating appliance with a direct sales function over 24 hours, expressed in kWh/24h and rounded to three decimal places.\n(c) The SAE is expressed in kWh/a and rounded to two decimal places. For refrigerating appliances with a direct sales function with all compartments having the same temperature class and for refrigerated vending machines, the SAE is calculated as follows:\nSAE = 365 × P × (M + N × Y) × C;\nFor refrigerating appliances with a direct sales function with more than one compartment having different temperature classes, with the exception of refrigerated vending machines, the SAE is calculated as follows:\nSAE = 365 × P × ∑ c=1 n M + N × Y c × C c ;\nwhere:\n(1) c is the index number for a compartment type ranging from 1 to n, with n being the total number of compartment types.\n(2) The values of M and N are given in Table 3.\nTable 3\nM and N values\nCategory\nValue for M\nValue for N\nBeverage coolers\n2,1\n0,006\nIce-cream freezers\n2,0\n0,009\nRefrigerated vending machines\n4,1\n0,004\nGelato-scooping cabinets\n25,0\n30,4\nVertical and combined supermarket refrigerator cabinets\n9,1\n9,1\nHorizontal supermarket refrigerator cabinets\n3,7\n3,5\nVertical and combined supermarket freezer cabinets\n7,5\n19,3\nHorizontal supermarket freezer cabinets\n4,0\n10,3\nRoll-in cabinets (from 1 March 2021)\n9,2\n11,6\nRoll-in cabinets (from 1 September 2023)\n9,1\n9,1\n(3) The values of C, the temperature coefficient are given in Table 4.\nTable 4\nTemperature conditions and corresponding temperature coefficient values, C\n(a)\nSupermarket cabinets\nCategory\nTemperature class\nHighest temperature of warmest M-package (°C)\nLowest temperature of coldest M-package (°C)\nHighest minimum temperature of all M-package (°C)\nValue for C\nVertical, combined supermarket refrigerator cabinets\nM2\n≤ +7\n≥ -1\nn.a.\n1,0\nH1 and H2\n≤ +10\n≥ -1\nn.a.\n0,82\nM1\n≤ +5\n≥ -1\nn.a.\n1,15\nHorizontal supermarket refrigerator cabinets\nM2\n≤ +7\n≥ -1\nn.a.\n1,0\nH1 and H2\n≤ +10\n≥ -1\nn.a.\n0,92\nM1\n≤ +5\n≥ -1\nn.a.\n1,08\nVertical and combined supermarket freezer cabinets\nL1\n≤ -15\nn.a.\n≤ -18\n1,0\nL2\n≤ -12\nn.a.\n≤ -18\n0,9\nL3\n≤ -12\nn.a.\n≤ -15\n0,9\nHorizontal supermarket freezer cabinets\nL1\n≤ -15\nn.a.\n≤ -18\n1,0\nL2\n≤ -12\nn.a.\n≤ -18\n0,92\nL3\n≤ -12\nn.a.\n≤ -15\n0,92\n(b)\nGelato-scooping cabinets\nTemperature class\nHighest temperature of warmest M-package (°C)\nLowest temperature of coldest M-package (°C)\nHighest minimum temperature of all M-package (°C)\nValue for C\nG1\n-10\n-14\nn.a.\n1,0\nG2\n-10\n-16\nn.a.\n1,0\nG3\n-10\n-18\nn.a.\n1,0\nL1\n-15\nn.a.\n-18\n1,0\nL2\n-12\nn.a.\n-18\n1,0\nL3\n-12\nn.a.\n-15\n1,0\nS\nSpecial classification\n1,0\n(c)\nRefrigerated vending machines\nTemperature class\nMaximum measured product temperature (Tv ) (°C)\nValue for C\nCategory 1\n7\n1+(12-TV)/25\nCategory 2\n12\nCategory 3\n3\nCategory 4\n(TV1+TV2)/2\nCategory 6\n(TV1+TV2)/2\nFor multi-temperature vending machines, TV shall be the average of TV1 (the maximum measured product temperature in the warmest compartment) and TV2 (the maximum measured product temperature in the coldest compartment).\ncategory 1 = refrigerated closed fronted can and bottle machines where the products are held in stacks, category 2 = refrigerated glass fronted can and bottle, confectionery & snack machines, category 3 = refrigerated glass fronted machines entirely for perishable foodstuffs, category 4 = refrigerated multi-temperature glass fronted machines, category 6 = combination machines consisting of different categories of machine in the same housing and powered by one chiller.\n(d)\nother refrigerating appliances with a direct sales function\nCategory\nValue for C\nOther appliances\n1,0\nNotes:\nn.a = not applicable\n(4) Coefficient Y is calculated as follows:\n(a) for beverage coolers:\nYc is the equivalent volume of the compartments of the beverage cooler with target temperature Tc, (Veq c), calculated as follows:\nYc = Veq c = GrossVolumec × ((25 - Tc)/20) × CC;\nwhere Tc is the average compartment classification temperature of the compartment and CC is the climate class factor.
