# Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/683 of 15 April 2020 implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/858 of the European Parliament and of the Council with regards to the administrative requirements for the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles, Division 2.5 Section 5:

Extent: E+W+S+N.I.

(not for ... individual vehicle approvals): A two-digit sequential number (with leading zeros if applicable) to denote an extension in accordance with Article 34 of Regulation (EU) 2018/858. The sequence shall start from 00 for each new type-approval certificate. On the vehicle’s statutory plate(s) only, Section 5 shall be omitted.
