Division 1 The status free from infection with BTV may only be granted to a Member State or to a zone, where BTV has never been reported, if:

  1. (a)

    surveillance in accordance with Section 1 of Chapter 1 has been conducted at least for the past 24 months; and

  2. (b)

    no case of infection with BTV has been confirmed during the past 24 months in the targeted animal population.
