Part F Requirements for the vector-protected facility in confined establishments in third countries

Where required in Part D of this Annex, the vector-protected facility in the confined establishments in third countries or territories must comply with the following requirements:

1. (a)

   has appropriate physical barriers at entry and exit points;

2. (b)

   the openings of the vector-protected facility must be vector-screened with mesh of appropriate gauge, impregnated regularly with an approved insecticide according to the instructions of the manufacturer;

3. (c)

   vector surveillance and control must be carried out within and around the vector-protected facility;

4. (d)

   measures must be taken to limit or eliminate breeding sites for vectors in the vicinity of the vector-protected facility;

5. (e)

   standard operating procedures must be in place, including descriptions of back-up and alarm systems, for the operation of the vector-protected facility and for the transport of the animals from that structure to the place of loading for dispatch to the Union.
