# The Family Credit (Transitional) Amendment Regulations 1988, Note: Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Family Credit (Transitional) Regulations 1987 to make provision for a claimant’s capital to be determined on the assumption that it is the same on 11th April 1988 as it was at the date of his family income supplement or family credit claim.
The Regulations contain only provisions consequential on sections 20 to 22 of the Social Security Act 1986 and Regulations made under those sections in their application to family credit and are made before the expiry of 12 months from the commencement of those sections. Accordingly, the Regulations are exempt, by section 61(5) of that Act, from reference to the Social Security Advisory Committee and have not been so referred.
