# The Family Procedure (Adoption) (Amendment) Rules 2008, Introduction: Introductory text

The Family Procedure Rules Committee makes the following Rules in exercise of the powers conferred by section 75(2) and (4) of the Courts Act 2003.
In accordance with section 79 of the Courts Act 2003 the Committee has consulted with persons it considered appropriate.
