# The Family Proceedings (Amendment) Rules 1996, Introduction: Introductory text

SUPREME COURT OF ENGLAND AND WALES

Made 15th March 1996
Laid before Parliament 18th March 1996
Coming into force 1st May 1996
We, the authority having the power under section 40(1) of the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984 to make rules of court for the purposes of family proceedings in the High Court and county courts, in the exercise of the powers conferred by the said section 40, and of all other powers enabling us in that behalf, hereby make the following rules:
