# The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Consequential Amendments) Order 2002, Article 55: General prohibition on deposit taking


In Article 25(2) of the Credit Unions (Northern Ireland) Order 1985 (general prohibition on deposit taking), for the words “has the meaning given in section 5 of the Barking Act 1987” substitute—
“must be read with—
(a) section 22 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000;
(b) any relevant order under that section; and
(c) Schedule 2 to that Act.”.
